How it works
Anyone can keep documents in a drawer. The hard part is the handover, and that is the part MyImprint was built for.
Work through the sections at your own pace. Nothing is compulsory, and everything saves as you go.
Name the trusted person, or people, who may one day need access, and set the conditions under which the vault opens.
If the time comes, we check in with you first, more than once, before anything is released. Only then, and only to the people you named, using their own secure PIN.
Security
Everything in your vault is protected with AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks, before it is ever stored.
Passwords are never stored, only hashed. Nobody at MyImprint can read them, and nobody can read them back.
Before a vault is ever released, we email you to check in, and give you a single click to stop the process. More than once.
When a trusted person opens your vault or downloads a document, it is logged, so there is always a clear record.
On paper too
Not everyone wants to start on a screen. The Just-in-Case Kit is the printed companion to your vault: the same sections, laid out to fill in by hand at the kitchen table, then typed up whenever you're ready.

MyImprint is open and free to use while we're in early access. Start your vault today, and we'll give you plenty of notice, and a choice, before anything changes.
Questions
No. MyImprint is not a will and does not replace one. It is where you keep everything else: the practical details, documents, and wishes that a will does not cover, and where your family would otherwise have to go searching. Keep your will with your attorney, and note in MyImprint where it is.
Only you, until you decide otherwise. You nominate your trusted people and set the conditions under which they may access your vault. They unlock it with their own secure PIN, and every access is recorded for you to see.
Nothing opens by surprise. If your vault sees no activity for the period you chose, we email you first to check in, and one click resets everything. If we still hear nothing, you get a second warning, and there is a further waiting period after that before anything is released. You can stop the process at any point.
Your vault is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored, your password is hashed and unreadable, and connections are secured with HTTPS. No online service can promise perfection, so we would rather tell you exactly how it works than make claims we cannot keep.
Nothing at the moment. MyImprint is free while we are in early access. When paid plans are introduced, existing members will be told well in advance and will have the choice to subscribe or export everything they have entered.
Yes. Your vault is yours. You can export or print everything you have entered at any time, and close your account whenever you wish.
